Hi.

Welcome to Bumblemom. As my name suggestions, I’m bumbling along as best I can as I navigate a new culture, kids, and style.

Playroom Remodel

Playroom Remodel

When we moved into our house in 2019 we knew the playroom was a project area, but we weren’t sure what we wanted to do with it. So we did nothing and lived with the awkward space for the time being. Then 2020 hit - with lockdowns and homeschooling - and all of a sudden the kids and I were spending the bulk of our days in this room. We tried all sorts of makeshift solutions to make the space work for us, but by the end of the Great Lockdown of 2020, I had some very strong feelings about what changes I wanted in the playroom. This project is the culmination of months of work and even more time brainstorming and negotiating with my husband to make my vision a reality.

I made a little vlog of our playroom journey and I’m including a list of the vendors we used and the sources of all of our goods because this stuff is not as easy to find in New Zealand as it would’ve been in the United States. We are thrilled with the end product and hopeful that the room will be used for playing and homework and no more homeschooling!
