Hi.

Welcome to Bumblemom. As my name suggestions, I’m bumbling along as best I can as I navigate a new culture, kids, and style.

Grocery Haul #20

Grocery Haul #20

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. It still feels weird to celebrate in the summer; I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to that. However, one of the plusses of warm Christmas is all of the delicious summer foods that are available right now. This is my favourite time of year in the grocery store. Earlier this week I picked up the following:

  • Grated tasty cheese, 500g - $10.49

  • Blueberries, 125g punnets @$4.99 x2 - $9.98

  • Strawberries, 250g punnets @$4.99 x2 - $9.98

  • Bluff salmon, bone in skin on, .55kg @$49.99/kg - $27.89

  • Harraway’s Rolled Oats, 800g - $4.99

  • Apple & Cinnamon Granola, .135g @$14.90/kg - $2.01

  • Rund Green Beans, 250g - $4.49

  • Cut flowers - 6 stem - $9.99

  • Pork Butterfly Steaks, 2 packs totalling .958kg @$25.99/kg - $24.00

  • Orange Capsicums, $2.49 each - $4.98

  • Premium Mangos, $5.99 each - $11.98

  • Sweetcorn, $2.99 each - $11.96

  • Classic Guacamole, 225g - $8.49

  • Avalanche Drinking Chocolate, 400g - $5.29

  • Neutrogena Utla Sheer Sunscreen - $16.99

  • Button Mushrooms, .152kg @ $13.99/kg - $2.13

  • Organic Milk, 2L - $6.84

  • Proper Salted Tortilla Chips - $4.59 each - $9.18 (on sale)

  • Cherries - 400g - $9.99

  • Ghiotti Salame Milano, 70g - $6.99

For a total of NZ$213.02, or about US$134 given the exchange rate at the moment. Inflation has certainly raised food prices, but they seem to be evening out now. Hopefully it stays that way!

Have a wonderful New Year’s. I am most likely going to be taking a few weeks off in January. It’s the Kiwi thing to do! I’ll be back with lots of good info in 2023.
