Hi.

Welcome to Bumblemom. As my name suggestions, I’m bumbling along as best I can as I navigate a new culture, kids, and style.

Sick Day Smoothie

Our house has been visited by "kid crud."  You know, that coughing-runny-nose-no-one-feels-great-but-a-doctor's-visit-is-overkill that runs in toddler circles.  Our little man hasn't had much of an appetite, so I decided to tempt him with a smoothie that has some nutritional value.  It has enough (natural) sweetness to appeal to a 21 month old but isn't all junk food.

Sick Day Smoothie

  • 1/2 block silken tofu

  • 2 Bananas

  • 2 Strawberries

  • 2 Kiwis

  • 1/2 cup of Orange Juice

Directions

  • Combine Tofu, Bananas, Strawberries, and Kiwis in a Cuisinart (or Vitamix, or other blender)

  • Slowly add orange juice until you have a smooth, sweet consistency

  • Pour into a glass and serve with a bendy straw. Bendy straws make everything better when you do feel good.

Feel free to experiment with other fruit.  I've used blueberries, frozen apple juice, mango - really anything that needed to be used out of the fridge.  This is so simple, and so tasty!
