Hi.

Welcome to Bumblemom. As my name suggestions, I’m bumbling along as best I can as I navigate a new culture, kids, and style.

The Best Chocolate Cake Ever

My husband's favorite cake is a gut-busting chocolate pound cake.  It's delicious, but not my preferred light and moist chocolate cake. Finally, I've found a recipe that we both agree is the most delicious cake ever.  I started with this version from Allrecipes and after a few tweaks, we have a winner!  And of course, the kids agree - especially because it is easy enough for them to help make.

The Best Chocolate Cake Ever

  • 1 cup Coconut Sugar

  • 1 3/4 cup Flour

  • 1 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder (I like Dagoba's)

  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda

  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 cup Milk

  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Tbl Vanilla Extract

  • 1 cup Boiling Water

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350

  • Spray a bunt pan with a non-stick spray.

  • In a mixing bowl, pour all ingredients except the Boiling Water and mix.

  • Pour in the boiling water and mix in last.

  • Pour the batter into the bundt pan and cook for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

  • Enjoy! We don't even add icing and this cake is unbelievable.
